Gia Lischnitz was born in Czechoslovakia near the german borders into Ashkenazi Jewish family coming from Germany. Her grandfather was the first canine behaviorist in central Europe and Weimaraner and Malinois breeder Heiri Machat (1920 – 1977). He brought them from family relatives from Germany in early fifties of last century. As an active hunter and forest manager he used his Weimaraners for active hunting. Gia was surrounded by dogs since she was born and successfully continues the legacy of her grandfather. Her first book Grandpa’s Diaries was dedicated to him. Gia spent part of her childhood in Switzerland and teen-age in France and is holding doctorate degrees of law, philosophy and science. During her studies she was also a successful model for few years. Gia resides in Scottish Highlands with her family surrounded by dogs and nature. Lischnitz Kennels and Lischnitz De Boheme are the synonym of the highest quality. All dogs are properly trained, and health checked before used for breeding. The waiting period to get a puppy is about 2 years even if 4 litters a year are planned. Gia and her team train dogs to be used for active hunting and also as rescue and service dogs (including medical alert, assistance, detection etc.). Gia is breeder of the most famous and most successful Weimaraner Longhair in the world, International Champion, C.I.E., Multi Grand Champion, Multi Champion Jetro Silver O.G. Avec Lischnitz, who is also certified and fully practicing Medical Alert Dog (the only one in the world in this breed) who saved Gia’s husband’s life, when having stroke. He is a legend in the breed with more than 300 offsprings living around the world. On dog shows they are always successful and have lot of titles and Championships. Gia organizes summer training camps for owners of Lischnitz Kennels puppies for Obedience, Hunting works for dogs and also Training for Service Dogs. The camps are open also for other people, but just Dogs with fully recognized Pedigree are accepted (KC and FCI). Unfortunately, this option was not possible in 2020 eather 2021 because of Covid-19 pandemic and was renewed in 2022. Gia also provides and organizes intensive Obedience trainings for dogs finished by exam (Levels I., II., III.), Hunting trainings for gun dogs and Bloodhounds (field, water and blood tracking) and also Service Dog Training including Medical Alert, Assistance and Rescue. For those trainings are the dog-students accommodated by Lischnitz Kennels and return home fully trained and with exam, if applied. Regarding to the Covid-19 pandemic, some Lischnitz dogs and puppies are used also for Covid-19 Alert intensive training and then provided as fully trained. Gia launched own dog food line Gray Ghost in 2017 and Wolf’s Shadow in 2018. Gia launched own dog cosmetics label Pawlicious by Gia Lischnitz in 2021. She has given several interviews for various magazines over the years and in the last 10 years she has appeared on more than 20 front pages of dog magazines.
